Our History
The Tempe High School Buffaloes football program has a storied history dating back nearly a century, making it one of Arizona's most respected high school programs. Known for grit, talent, and community pride, Tempe has produced legendary players, unforgettable Friday nights, and championship-winning seasons.
From the inaugural 1924 season to the 1996 perfect 14-0 campaign — capped by a 20-17 overtime victory against Glendale Ironwood — the Buffalo tradition lives in every player who puts on the uniform.
